How does a satellite dish work?
Satellite dishes receive signals from satellites that orbit the Earth. Television stations on the ground transmit signals, or uplinks to a satellite as it is in orbit. All of these incoming signals are then combined to form one downlink signal that is sent to your satellite dish. This signal is transmitted by a cable that links your satellite dish to your receiver, where it is finally decoded and shown on your television screen as a picture.
What is the difference between satellite TV and cable TV?
The primary difference between satellite TV and cable TV is that cable is predominantly a terrestrial service. This means that you need cable lines that run to your home in order to receive a cable signal. These lines have not been run to all areas of the country. Thankfully, satellite TV does not depend on lines to get a signal to your home. Since you only need a satellite dish to receive a signal, you can get satellite TV just about anywhere!

Availability

Do I have to meet any residential/demographic requirements to get DISH Network?
You will have to reside in a residence within the continental United States to get DISH Network from SkyView Services. We are currently unable to sign up new customers in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico; however, limited service is available in those areas directly through DISH Network or local authorized retailers.
 
Is DISH Network available in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, or Alaska?
Yes. However, you will have to contact DISH Network or a local authorized retailer in those areas to sign up. At this time, SkyView Services cannot process new accounts from these locations.
 

Moving

What happens to my DISH Network account if I move?
Your DISH Network service will move with you! You can take your service with you when you move by contacting DISH Network's DishMOVER service. If it's a local move in our area, contact us at 1-251-580-0160. If you are moving out of our area, call 1-888-557-9569 to arrange for installation of a new satellite dish at your new address. You will, however, be responsible for bringing your receivers and remotes with you when you move.

Internet

Does DISH Network offer internet services?
Yes. DISH Network does offer its own internet service (Wild Blue) via satellite. SkyView Services is currently partnered with Wildblue, Exede, and Hughesnet Satellite Internet. Call 1-251-580-0160 today to find out how much you can save on a combination of DISH Network with internet service!
